I purchased four of these extensions to use with our Supergate Deluxe Decor gate to enable it to wrap around our fireplace hearth. I think the price per extension is a bit on the high side. Having said that, the gate overall is attractive and quite sturdy for how lightweight it is. The only reason I knocked off a star is that I wish there was some way to get a quantity discount for purchasing several of these (a 3-pack or 4-pack or something). The extensions match the original gate perfectly and attach very easily to it with no hardware required. Two important things to note (for measuring purposes):1) These extensions do not attach to the outer pieces of your original gate; rather, they attach BETWEEN the central gate unit and one of the original end units.2) These extensions are not the same width as the end units that come with the gate; they are about 15" wide, while the original end units are about 17" wide. Working from home during pandemic has its challenges and plenty of them. Barking dogs roaming the house while my wife tries to teach school is just one of them. We built a gate/fence to span a wide owning that keeps the dogs away from the front door and stairs. This extension allowed us to span a larger distance than most of the gates/fences we found. She was able to teach school remotely upstairs without interruption and pizza delivery drivers no longer quake with fear as our tiny terrors defend the castle against all invaders. Read more

3 stars because of the price ($42.91). Very easy to attach the extension; while my hubby was at work I assembled the gate. The space I needed gated was 73 inches; the gate ($72.99) is reasonably priced and very practical in its functional capabilities (watch the video for this gate - it's great!) - but fits up to 72 inches so I had to buy this extension that cost me over 1/2 the cost of the original main gate! Works awesome! The only thing we've noticed so far, after having it for a few months, is that it slides left to right since it's not straight across (bends out in a squared off u-shape). But we love the option to have the door swing closed on its own or make it stay open. I also love that you can take the whole thing off without removing the hardware. My boyfriend put it together pretty quickly because he's handy and he only has one or two struggles during the process. Overall, it seems to be well worth the money so far and much more convenient than all the other gates we've had before. Read more

It was actually easier than we thought to add on. We needed a longer gate for the living room to keep twins out of kitchen area. We also take care of two 90 yr old in-laws and the feature that allows the entire gate to be swung open is a great feature. We can bring our elders into visit with the gate removal option and put it back so twins and family comfortably spend time together. Read more

Has held up great. Been using for over a year. The gate and addition covered the span and is wearing well. Door latches a little weird, right now, but we haven't ruled out the humidity factor on the wood to which the gate is fastened. We use it to keep grandson away from woodstove and stairs. He has "reemed" on it a little, but we have not allowed this. We constantly go in and out of this gate as it blocks a main traffic area. So far, so good. Dogs out, kid in and safe - what more do you want? It is a good height, too. Read more

It works exactly as it should. I missed the instructions at first and took the long route to putting it together and it was still easy to figure out. I'll probably end up buying one more soon. Read more

After the first gate that I bought worked out so well, I decided to buy another gate and extension to block off another area of my house. If you're like me, you might be wondering to yourself about how difficult it is to add the extension to the existing gate. Let me put your mind at ease; it is ridiculously simple. In fact, that's how I would sum up the whole installation; it was ridiculously simple.5 stars for an idiot proof design Read more
