I used to put my tanning mit on a hairbrush then try to twist my arm to reach that one middle spot of my back I could never reach. I would always end up breaking a sweat just trying to get it evenly spread on my back. This little tool makes it a lot less stressful! I will say that you still have to sort of bend over so your back is pushed out (if that makes sense) so it glides over it evenly, otherwise if you're standing straight your shoulder bones stick out and you'll still not be able to get it to glide over that middle area. I was skeptical about this product initially, but after trying it, I am a believer. Using a few scant drops of lotion, the pluah and silky smooth pad smoothed the lotion onto my back with little effort, which is great because I have T-Rex arms and plus my shoulder has been paining me a lot lately. I love this one but unfortunately I have to buy another because I lost mine at hotel I was staying for the weekend. It is a very nice but don’t use pump foam tanner because it will absorb and you won’t get much on your skin. Seems to work best with lotions. Now I don't have to rely or bother my wife to help lotion my back. I use this daily after the shower. Easy to use and it actually is faster to apply compared to doing it by hand. I used to hurt my shoulders and back trying to get the hard to reach areas on my back, this product has saved me in so many ways. Made self tanning my back a breeze!Make sure you run it in different directions to cover all your back, especially on your sides and along your spine (which is usually a valley that you might have to huntch over to flatten the "spine valley" and get the self tanner spread evenly). Application of cream to back.Not able to reach the parts of my back that need non-itch cream I was looking forward to using this.Yes, it is soft. Of course it is it's made of velvet. I thought perhaps this would only be on the application side and it would be backed by something non-absorbent. But no it is velvet both sides and as a result the cream sinks through and it is very extravagant on usage. You put the cream on the pad, spread it a little and by the time youget to trying to apply to your back the cream has sunk through to the other side.
