Butterfly Beauty Shop's Five Thieve's Oil is a clear winner in our house. I have just made my second purchase of this remarkable product. My first was just two months ago and I was so impressed I refused to be without it. Actually I was sick and tired of the "winter house" staleness so I purchased a diffuser and the oil to see if it would help any. I read a lot of medieval genre books, and the plague is a prominent subject in those books, and they speak about how thieves oil originated in response to the plague so I just had to try it, and after reading reviews I chose this brand. (No you Google it-it really happened, just Google Thieves oil and plague together).Essential oils and their therapeutic benefits have always sounded like so much nonsense to me so I have not paid them much mind ( you know, everybody has an angle) until I began this trek with them. After receiving my initial bottle, which was very well packaged, and arrived on time, I have changed my mind, and let me tell you why. As I mentioned earlier, I was sick of winter's "stale house" odor and candles etc, do not please everybody, they are expensive and must be tended to, air fresheners, other methods are useless, so I decided to try a diffuser and essential oils to freshen up my house. I immediately set up the diffuser and put in the thieves oil, thinking "Oh my what a wonderful aroma!" and thought no more about it for a bit. After about fifteen minutes-half an hour I noticed that my sinus' were beginning to open up. I live in the I5 corridor in the Pacific Northwest, which is the allergy capital of the world it seems, and after an allergy free childhood I gradually began to experience sinus problems that have grown worse over the last twenty years. I thought I wold be wise to purchase stock in the company that makes NyQuil. So it was amazing to feel my sinus' opening up and even more so to have the headache fade and after three days or so the tenderness in my sinus cavities was gone. I have not had to run to the NyQuil box since I started using the Butterfly brand of Thieves. Thinking I was just subconsciously imagining this I didn't mention it, but soon after my husband sat down that evening he mentioned that he was breathing easier and felt like pressure in his head was relieved. I was relieved to know I still have decent deductive skills.Just before Christmas, I fell and fractured the tibia and fibula of my left leg, in what is called a tib/fib plateau fracture. The top of the bones were in tiny fragments like cookie crumbs, nasty business that! After two surgeries to repair the fracture, including plates and screws I was sent home to sit and heal for six months. My primary method of transportation other than a wheelchair is with a walker, so the commode has to be very near me in a very small house. Needless to say, one quickly becomes very sensitive to the presence of a commode and the real or perceived odor that might accompany the commode, and this anxiety is magnified when one has visitors.But alas, I was safe and sound by an extra drop or two of the Thieves oil, and nobody but I and the commode knew of our love hate relationship-Thank God!!!! Still have the commode, still using it, still hating it, and oh the plans I have for it when I no longer need it!I imagine as time goes by and I continue my research and purchase of other essential oils, I will have more to say about the therapeutic uses of thieves oil but for now this is the extent of my experience. Another benefit is that I do not have to pay attention to the diffuser as it automatically shuts off when it is empty, so this method is essentially trouble free, no muss-no fuss. This brand of Thieves will be a staple in my home.Were I to say anything negative about this purchase it would be not so negative but an improvement and that would be to if Butterfly Beauty Shop would include a quality eyedropper in the purchase. I mention quality because those that are without quality are worthless. A quality eyedropper is essential if one desires to measure for recipes, and also to avoid excessive loss of product.Finally, did I by any chance happen to mention what a delicious scent or aroma this product fills the air with? No more "winter house". It is like fresh cookies out of the oven, rich aromatic spices that make a person feel warm fuzzy and want to reach for a cup of coffee? This stuff is the best! I have used this for years! A few drops on my pillow really seems to keep me from getting sick when everyone else in my home is snotty and feverish. Also, a few drops in a cup of hot tea makes my sore throat a little less scratchy and opens my sinuses. I have a bottle at home, in my purse and at work. Great stuff! Read more

It does not smell exactly the same, which makes somewhat sense because I don't know if they can copy Thieves recipe. It does smell more "cinnamon-y." I put it on the bottom of my feet for a few days during a time I had the flu and it turned my soles YELLOW/ORANGE.Are real essential oils supposed to do that? Did they add a dye? I will not purchase again and am sad because this price was great. I also can't judge if it worked because I actually had Influenza A which is more hardcore then a cold. I will consider editing this review if I get a cold and use this and can report the results. I just really needed to share this, especially about the discoloration.*edit* I finally caught a cold and this didn't help :( I started using this before it even blew into a cold. Love this scent! First time purchase of brand! I have always mixed my own “Thieves oil” for home oil warming lamps & old stone oils lamps. Holistically raised, and this oil is about equal to how I would prepare myself. Have used “Thieves Oil mix for many yrs. & likely never will stop.I am no medical professional, but was raised to use alternatives to medication and other related health issues all my life. Lucky enough to have 2 very educated alternative medical people in my family. Vitamins, mineral, chiropractors, reflexology, etc.!This blend helps with high energy pets & children, bad moods, & illnesses! I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and lived without scents for years to avoid illness. A friend told me about Essential Oils and let me try her Thieves Oil blend from Young Living, then gave it to me when I was so delighted with the spicy scent and the fact that I was smelling something pleasant that didn't cause me an instant migraine, sore throat, brain fog, or any negative reaction. When that bottle was almost gone I decided to look for alternatives since I planned to continue using the blend. My sister and I ordered a few similar blends and when I opened Robbers' Relief, I felt like I hit the jackpot! I have diffused this oil regularly and love it. This is very similar to Thieves by Young Living. I've tried both and can't tell a difference between the two brands. Although there is no recommendation for use, I suggest diluting 4:1 with grapeseed or V-8 oil. Read more
