I'm not a vain person, I don't typically wear make-up and my hair care routine exists of using my car's heater to blow dry my hair on the drive to work in the morning. That said, I do admit that I've always felt self-conscious about how thin my hair started getting, starting in my early 20s. My hair is baby fine and thinning on the back of my crown, and also along a kind of widow's peak cowlick in the front. I'm very white/pink and my scalp is very BRIGHT and makes everything look even worse than it really is. I've considered getting a wig or hair pieces, but I have very sensitive skin and my scalp gets too itchy. If I go one day without washing my hair, I start to look like I'm going bald. It's pretty sad.Anyway, I've tried using light brown matte eye shadow to hide the bald cowlick in the front, but you could always see the powder on my scalp and I was nervous that people could tell what I'd done. I was kind of worried that it would be the same with this this powder, but miraculously, that was not the case. After my hair dries, I take about a minute in the bathroom (using the little mirror on the compact that came with the powder) to lightly brush the thinning areas at the roots, including very lightly along my entire part. I don't overdo it, just a touch, but I'm amazed at the results. It's incredibly natural looking, I have brown hair and ordered the blond formula after reading reviews and it was the perfect shade.Now to address two criticism I read about in other reviews that I was worried about:1. That it has an unpleasant fragrance. OK, this is kind of true...but it is a very faint fragrance, and I have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. I'm always smelling things that other people can't, and I was worried that the scent would be flowery and overpowering, but it is not. Particularly if you use the powder sparingly. My husband was hugging me with his nose right up to my hair and he didn't notice anything, and his smell is even more sensitive than mine, in fact, I can't wear certain lotions etc. because he's so sensitive to the smell.-2.That it changes the texture of your hair and makes it feel dirty. Again, I have VERY fine hair that gets super oily after one day without washing it, so I was really worried about this. But, when I run my fingers through my hair, I feel nothing. Maybe if you were covering a very large area, it would change the feel, but not if you're just covering small patches.So, overall, I love this stuff and will be using this product daily from now on. I feel like it has really made me look like I have more hair, even though it isn't one of those texture hair fiber products. It doesn't come off on or stain your fingers, or show up on your pillow...it's really amazing. So, while it is a bit spendy, I think you should go for it if you are on the fence about whether or not to order this. I almost skipped it, and I'm so glad that I didn't!UPDATE: August 3rd, 2016. I have been follicly challenged for years due to Lupus but receiving a breast cancer diagnosis didn’t help. I’m on an aromatase inhibitor that is making my already thinning hair even thinner, and had skin patches showing through everywhere but the back. I’ve tried Toppik, I’ve tried L’Oreal root touch up, but nothing has worked as well as this product.The day it arrived, I used the enclosed brush and swatched some across the top of my hand. And then I continued on with my day at home, washing my hands several times and even doing dishes and the color was still there. The next morning, it was still there, and after I showered it was STILL there, lighter, of course, but very visible. I used a washcloth and soap to scrub it off at that point, but it had proven that it had staying power and wasn’t going to get all over me, the bathroom counter and my clothes (like Toppik does). Furthermore, because I put it directly on my scalp, it doesn’t leave my curly hair looking fuzzy.I agree that the enclosed brush is fairly worthless. I simply re-purposed my Ulta Angled Foundation brush and pounce the product on my scalp.I’m not sure how long this will last (I wish that it came in a larger size), but it has saved me, at least for now, from having to start wearing a wig. I ordered the Light Blonde as I am 68 and have short hair, dyed champagne blonde. I have thinning hair near the front above my forehead and on the crown. I think it's more visible to me than other people but I am very aware of the thin areas. After watching an old video on QVC with Joan Rivers demonstrating this product and her commenting on the fact that they make this Light Blonde and even White for those who have silver or white thinning hair, I ordered it. It certainly does make the thin areas look more normal by brushing the color onto the scalp where it is needed. The light blonde is perfect for us older women who use blonde color on their silver hair. A brush is supplied. Watching the video is helpful for those who have never used this before. It will work for medium blonde color also because it's light. Any light brown would look too dark. I think it's great and no one would know that you have thin spots. Read more

This does a good job covering scalp areas with thinning hair. The brush, however, is horrible. The first time I used the brush, the bristles started to shed! I have to use another brush to use the product which is why I gave it a three-star review. Read more

There’s no question that this product works but there’s a learning curve in figuring out how to apply it so it looks even and natural. I read that a lot of people bought a separate brush but I found that trimming the brush it came with down (as shown in picture) made it firm enough to accomplish the job. Read more

I had high hopes for this product due to all the great reviews. I have dark brown hair and purchased the dark brown powder. The package is really nice and comes with a nice applicator brush, however, the product just doesn’t do what it says it supposed to do. It’s not pigmented enough to cover grey hair. I even added to my scalp to see if it would colour my skin and it didn’t do anything. I would not recommend this product at all. Shop for an alternative. This item is going back ASAP. Read more

Works well. Ash blonde is hard to find so I was happy to find this product. Easier to use then sprays or root mascara. My only complaint is the brush. Bristles keep falling out while using - like a lot! Tried washing the brush a couple of times with soap and water to get any loose ones out, but it keeps doing it! Very annoying! Read more
