I have tried a few different hair bun makers on the market (including all that are pictured in the listing's comparison picture), so I was intrigued to try this set. It is very inexpensive so I didn't have very high expectations, but I am very impressed! My hair is medium length (ends just below my shoulder blades), naturally straight and not too thick. I found the directions easy to follow, but it was a bit difficult for me to slide the bun maker all the way down to the end of the hair (due to its length). It was easy to twist and form a bun (it feels like there may be a thick wire inside the bun maker) - it really holds the shape!I liked that the seller included bobby pins, ouhcless hair elastics and extra accessories - all you need is a hairbrush or comb to brush/detangle your hair and this set provides the rest.I was not able to use the plastic expanding tool (like a lattice scrunchie) - you are supposed to get it over your bun and secure it at the base... well, it didn't open wide enough to let my bun through. The white clip with faux pears worked wonderfully, though.I am very pleased with this set, and the price at the time of this review is incredible!I would recommend this set for people with medium-length hair. Ridiculously easy to use, if I can do it, anyone can. My hair is layered and just below my shoulders. The included pony tail holders are soft and do not snag my hair and there are two types of Bobby pins, both open and closed, depending on your preference.For my hair, the smaller ones work best and I made a pretty much perfect bun on the first try. Of course I had to tear it out and try different variations! I’m still wearing it, hours later, and I do not have a pressure headache, it has not budged and I’m getting compliments. Yes, compliments because I was confident enough in how it looked, I wore it out tonight knowing we wouldn’t be home till late.I really like the plastic expandable piece as well, I just gathered my hair up and slid it over the mess, gently squeezing it closed. This set offers every gadget for making buns I've ever seen in a store, and they are all high quality, well-finished, and sturdy. I have to say that I've tried working with them and I haven't mastered the art yet. It isn't the devices. They are fine. It's me. Using these things, no matter where you buy them, is an art that takes a lot of practice, at least if you have very long very thick hair like mine. The set offers several different kinds of bun makers, good for different lengths of hair, and I'm sure that with time I will be able to make one of them work for me. It hasn't happened yet, but as I said, it's not the set, which is excellent, it's me. Anyway, it's a good deal and there are enough devices here for several people. These are so easy to use and I love that you get different sizes and styles of these. I love that they have snaps on some of them for an extra hold. I like that it is an all inclusive set so you get hair ties and Bobby pins with it. These would make a great stocking stuffer for any girl. I would recommend it. Read more
