I've bought alot of cheap crap over the years, off Amazon, from brands I've never heard of. It's always a gamble. But this brush is absolutely amazing. I have very fine, limp hair, just above my shoulders with no volume. DISAPPOINTEDI was trying to find a budget-friendly alternative to my favorite (expensive!) brush. It needed to be ionic/ ceramic and have both firm bristles and boar bristles. This FIXBODY brush seemed comparable and was $16 cheaper, so I bought it. But it left me frustrated and disappointed!BRUSHING OBSERVATIONSUsing this brush was not a good experience. The tips of the bristles (the firm bristles, not the boar ones) are ROUGH and would get caught on my tangles and pull/ stretch/ break my hair. I cringe even remembering the experience. Each stroke levitated my strands from the static electricity. It did NOT make my hair smoother or shinier. On the contrary, my hair looked worse.BRUSHING - COMPARISONThen I brushed my hair with my favorite brush (Olivia Garden) for a comparison. The experience was totally different! The Olivia Garden brush effortlessly glided thru my hair leaving it smoother and shiner in a magnificent way. Detangling was a cinch. My hair had more volume, and there was absolutely no frizz or flyaways.DAMN IT TO HELLWhy does the FIXBODY brush suck so bad!?! My analytical and obsessive mind HAD to know why. (And my frugal nature was pissed off that I wasted $12.) So, I pulled out my strong magnifying glass and jewelry loupes. Here is what i noticed.(FIRM) BRISTLESUpon magnification, I discovered that the bristles on the FIXBODY brush splay abruptly at the ends. (Imagine the flat heads on the straight pins that you use when sewing.) My guess is that the manufacturing process involves melting/ soldering the bristle ends as a means of cutting them.(FIRM) BRISTLE - COMPARISONThen I inspected my favorite brush under magnification. The bristle quality was totally different! My fave brush has firm bristles that slowly taper into a smooth rounded tip with absolutely nothing for my hair to get snagged on. (See my uploaded pic of the comparison. The brown FIXBODY brush is on the left and the silver Olivia Garden brush is on the right.)CERAMIC/ IONICI had done a lot of research on ionic/ ceramic brushes. I found out that the majority of the brushes that are labeled as ionic or ceramic are actually only ionic on their barrel/ cushion NOT on the bristles. I believe this FIXBODY brush to be one of these because it left my hair stale and staticy. There was no visual or textual improvement.CERAMIC/ IONIC - COMPARISONIn contrast to this, the Olivia Garden brush (that I love so much) is ionic/ceramic all around: both in the cushion AND firm bristles. Which is probably why there is such a marked difference in results.CONCLUSIONThe FIXBODY brush does NOT "protect your hair from damage" "reduce brittle hair and split ends" or "make hair ... healthy" as it states. (How in the heck does this brush have so many good reviews!)DISCLAIMERI have no affiliation to Olivia Garden. so I have thick hair and everything gets stuck in it but not this curling brush. I was impressed. I don't usually do much with my hair because I don't have the patients or the time. So when I was looking for a curling brush I could use to help blow dry my hair better I ended up on this one. I like that it has a separator and that it was anti-static. there were other things I like but those where the biggest. I defiantly need practice on doing my hair because I felt like I needed to be an octopus to keep the dry parts from getting in the way but when I was finished I had beautiful salon hair and no giant tangles. This round brush is great. My stylist always straightens my hair with a round brush but I've always been scared to try afraid that I'll get it stuck in my hair. I'm glad I went with this brush to try it out. It glides through my curly hair without getting tangled and doent cause frizz. I have a Mason Pearson from my college days, which I'm still using, but the prices are so over the top now. However, I found this brush with boar bristle to be a great alternative for my teen. My daughter has long waist length hair so it always gets tangled. I got the 3.3 inch brush based on the chart for hair length. This brush helps take out the tangles without the ouch for her. After brushing with it, her hair looks so sleek with high shine that she could be in a Pantene commercial for hair! Very happy with the construction, she even commented that the handle was very comfortable. It takes a lot to impress my teen but she was quite surprised to see the retractable hair pick to help with removing loose hair from the brush and for sectioning hair. She thought that it was a very nice design aspect.As usual, Amazon's lightning speed delivery is amazing, I ordered yesterday around 1pm and it arrived today on Easter Sunday nonetheless at 9am! I can actually use this brush and this is a first!!! No tangles and nice volume! Always wanted my hair to look like it did when I left the salon; this brush helps get close!!! I'm amazed how well I can use this thing! Never thought I'd write a review about a brush. I have long hair that is mildly wavy and I use a round brush to blow dry it straight. After gradually melting bristles on typical cheap grocery store brushes, I searched for an upgrade. I have major static problems in winter, so I was pleased to see this brush saying it could help with that. Well, it’s humid summer right now (haven’t had static in months) and one stroke of this brush through my hair and I had a static issue. Then I noticed bristles all over my vanity. A few more strokes and bristles all over the floor. I hoped maybe there were just some loose ones so I ran my hand up and down the brush and it sheds and sheds. It’s just junk and cheaply made. Not worth more than a dollar or two, and that’s only if you’re willing to deal with major static and if you want to sweep your bathroom every time you use it. Returning. Read more

This is not a well made brush. The bristles fall out when the brush is touched. I did not brush my hair with it because I know my hair would have been full of the bristles. The bristles are also very stiff and hard. I am returning and do not recommend the purchase of this brush. Read more
