My hub and I were minimalist parents, or so we thought. When our daughter was born, our minimalist aspirations went out the window as we realized we needed to still have a life too. This machine takes up a lot of space in our already pretty crowded living environment so we were highly skeptical after putting it together because it was just this huge thing invading what little space we had left in our living room after the playpen, bassinet, seating chairs, etc. etc. But it was getting more and more difficult after my hub returned to work for me to manage on my own as I have taken a few months off to stay home with her and she gets fussy and needs constant attention that as a new parent, it's hard to deny her. Online reviews dubbed this as the "babysitter," though for me it was a last ditch attempt to try to get some in between time to work on house chores and relax a little. It did not work right away with her. The first ten times (5 day duration) she was put in, she cried and fussed until we picked her up. Eventually, after a week or so of trying to place her in there- she fully got "used" to it and started to enjoy her experience. She was three weeks old the first time we put her in there. Also, it doesn't always babysit her for long periods of time, the average time typically is about 20 minutes while the longest time she lasts is usually around 2.5 hours. She is most comfortable at the lowest two levels, with music helping if she is awake. The overall effect for her is that it helps soothe her for enough time for me to put a load in the washer, or make a meal and eat it. She might cry the first five minutes, but unless there is something wrong- she will stop crying and either go to sleep or self soothe until I can pick her up. Read more

I bought this swing for my newborn son, as I’ve always been a proponent of baby swings for infants due to their soothing nature. This being my fourth child, I have a bit of experience with purchasing baby products, including infant swings. I have bought a couple Fisher-Price swings in the past, and even this particular model with my last child, with no real issues to speak of (the last F.P. swing I bought the motor did make a terrible clicking noise while in use, but it did not effect the functionality of the swing). However, this time I ordered this swing and the motor is barely strong enough to push my newborn baby (8lbs)!! After spending a fair amount of money on this products from Fisher-Price (and many others in the past), saying I am very disappointed in the company is an understatement! I will no longer be recommending their products. Read more

We had this same exact swing but an older version. It was sturdy, quiet and great. The motor gave out after a few years so we got the new version. It’s junk! It’s wobbly, cheaply made and it’s LOUD! When it swings, it sounds like it’s going to fall apart. It also barely moves compared to the older version. Very disappointing. I hate when companies keep prices the same or even raise prices and the quality decreases... shame on them. Read more

TLDR: This product is an absolute life saver and worth every last penny. Buy it!I have two under two so (unfortunately) i can’t logically hold my newborn daughter all the time like I did my firstborn. It’s a bargain when compared to the higher end Mamaroo, but I cant imagine that to be any more effective (especially considering the defect in the overhead mobile part I’ve read that affects many of the models). Sure this swing is not as sleek and the footprint is pretty big (see photo for scale) but its sturdy and well worth the space. The three sound options and range of volume are very peaceful and not annoying at all. The sound of the motor is not too loud at all and doesn’t bother me or baby one bit. It puts her right to sleep every time. The bunny design I selected is adorable and would go with most anybody’s decor; however I wish the hanging plush birds were a bit brighter so my daughters seven-week old eyes could make them out better. A matter of preference I guess. Even still, they manage to capture her attention, though it could be the little mirror that really interests her! The movement is smooth and gentle, but I was surprised when first turning it on that the slowest setting is really not all that slow. Not a big deal but something I noted. I also wish this product had more movement options than just side to side or back and forth like the Mamaroo. These are just things that would make it even better IMO, but as a second time mom, one thing I’ve learned is it doesn’t need to be perfect to be a great buy! Read more

My mom told us to get a swing for the baby. She said it helped her out a lot. We ordered this one and it is great! It was easy to put up. Our daughter loves it as well. We’ve been using it for 6 months and it still works great. It plays different songs (daytime music, nighttime music, and even had just birds noises). The rocking helps the baby sleep better and longer. We have her in her bed at night but she takes a nap in the swing often. My wife can cook dinner or do various other chores while the baby swings and sleeps. The baby doesn’t wake up as easily. When we want our baby to wake up we turn off the swing and let her wake up on her own. If we leave it on she sleeps for a really long time. We haven’t changed the position yet we just have it laying down since we just use it for sleeping. It has straps for active babies and to keep them safer. We also like how it can swing in different directions. We mostly leave it side to side. We recommend it to anyone who has a baby! Read more

I usually don't take much time to read the comments but with this product I did and almost didn't want to buy it at first. I decided to go on and give it a try anyway.. I'll give you a few reasons here on whether you should buy it or not.Noise: I've read in some comments the motor noises are terrible. After using it for a few days everything is fine, the noise is pretty normal for a swing like this. Some complain the noises start after a few weeks. On that I can say something: it's possible the product has a bad motor and it starts making noises after let's say 1 month BUT it's also possible some people forget to tighten up the screws every once in a while as recommended in the user's manual which causes the motor to be de-calibrated in some way. (I will confirm this in a few months)Swing speed: I've read people complaining about the swing speed, you can set it from 1 to 6. In my opinion, you shouldn't listen to those people. The swing speeds are really fine. Some also complained about the swing going slower.... Did you guys think about changing the batteries or just start using the A/C Adapter maybe?Music: good quality, can adjust sound, I did not see any bad comments on this.Space taken by the product: yes, it's a big swing but it looks cool and can blend in your design easily. I personally don't think that's a problem but I saw some people complaining about it. If you think space is a big problem for you, go for a smaller swing.Long-term storage (for people who are thinking of having other babies in the future): I can't really comment on this since I bought this a few days ago but I can say this after reading the user's guide something: REMOVE BATTERIES FROM THE DAMN MOTOR IF YOU STORE IT. You know why I say this? Because I KNOW some people forget that batteries can literally melt down in a motor over the months/years if NOT USED and totally ravage the interior and then they blame the poor quality of the product after!Baby's feelings about this: god I wished I would have bought this sooner, she loves it so much (she's 4 months old now), she's always happy in it and less fussy too in general. Just don't leave her/him there 24 hours a day, please.PS: You really have to read the user's guide and follow every instructions and warnings by the letter, you should also do this for everything you buy in life. Reading isn't that hard... is it?********** 2 MONTHS LATER*********** (She's now 6 months old): still loving the product, probably the best thing I bought for my daughter ever. Read more

I had this exact swing a few years ago however ended up selling it. I was super happy to see that it was still available and purchased this again however it is not the same. I was shocked at how loud it is, so much I called Fisher Price thinking I must have a defective motor. They advised that the newer models have a new technology (can't remember exactly what she called it but it had something to do with the swinging motion) that makes it a bit louder while getting up to correct speed but then should get quieter once it reaches that speed. She was very helpful and even sent out anothe motor assembly it sounds just the same. Very sad as I loved the old model of this swing but the new model is loud (definitely have to turn the tv up to hear over the motor) .....still love the plug in option of the swing though AND the ease of customer service from Fisher Price!!!! Disappointed in the quality of this item. We purchased it because it had consistently great reviews, however ours seems to have scuffs on the metal legs and bubbles on the smooth plastic on the top of the motor, which is so significant I have no idea how it would have passed quality control. My husband actually had to go buy a new nut from the hardware store because we were unable to tighten one of the legs. When he removed it (which was quite an ordeal in itself), it was full of shredded plastic which made it impossible to tighten and therefore made the whole base unstable. Other than those issues, it seems to function well as a swing and now we wait to see how the baby likes it! Read more

Easy to assemble. Looks nice. It's a bit loud, it doesn't seem to bother my baby. The only downside is one side of the leg is not bend at the right angle. One foot is not touching the ground, but it is still steady, so I did not bother to return it. Instead, I just put something to make up for the space. Somehow my boy doesn't want to stay in it for longer than 5 min. But it might work for future kids. Read more
