Love the vibrant colors that stay on until you take it off. Plus you get a lot…. 8 colors and a whole little jar full of each. Seriously, why didn’t I know about make up like this! I have been paying a lot more for name brand shadows that look blah when on, I didn’t know there was a better choice. I actually gave a couple colors to my mom because there is so much. Read more
These come each in their own individual outer product boxes. They have plastic wrapper sealing them and holding them together. These are made in the PRC. The info, such as ingredients, aren’t in English. That always annoys me.The bottom of the box has a number on it specifying the color, but no name for the color. The jars are plastic. The bottom is clear so you can see the color. The top is black. The top screws off. The product is dispensed our of 5 holes, like a salt shaker. I love that there’s a little cover that covers the holes and flips open and closed, and it latches in place. A lot of products like this will have the lid and that’s it, which can be messy. The product will get into the cap when the jar is moved around, then when you remove the cap you’ll get powder everywhere. So I really was happy to see that there was a cover that went over the holes! There is a clear sticker with the number on the bottom of each jar. I almost missed it and didn’t think they had stickers labeling them, but then I saw them. I never understand why companies bother labeling things with numbers, since it’s not too helpful. But, I guess any label is better than no label. But, with these, you can see the color through the clear jar, so the labels don’t really matter to me.Like I said before, when you remove the cap, there are little holes (like a salt shaker). So, you shake it to get the product out. I like that they have it this way rather than just having the cap, so it’s less likely to make a mess. To me, loose eyeshadows/pigments are always so messy. I usually avoid them. But, these colors looked pretty. And, whenever I find loose eyeshadows/pigments I really like, I just press them myself. I did find that the product came out of the holes easy enough.Swatches - They are all done on my clean forearm (no lotion, primer, etc). I did a few different sets of swatches.I first did dry finger swatches. I sprinkled out some of the eyeshadow, dipped my finger in, and then swiped it onto my arm. They are definitely sheer, but have good pigment. Then, I did wet finger swatches. I sprinkled some out, mixed some water in with it, and then picked it up with my finger and swiped it onto my arm. That way made them A LOT more pigmented and shiny! But, that’s always expected when you wet shimmer eyeshadows. Finally, I did brush swatches. I sprinkled product out. First, I did dry brush swatches (left side). I took a flat eyeshadow brush and dipped it into the eyeshadow, then swiped it onto my arm. It didn’t show up very well that way. It didn’t pick up very well with the brush, even though it was tightly packed and flat. I went in to pick up more and swiped it again. Again, it didn’t show up very well. I had to do quite a few layers to get the dry brush swatches to show up. Second, I did wet brush swatches (right side). For this, I dipped a flat eyeshadow brush into water and then put it into the loose shadow I had sprinkled out, mixed it around a little, and then swiped the brush onto my arm. This worked A LOT better. It picked up so much easier and was a lot more pigmented and shiny. But again, I expect that with wet shimmer eyeshadows. I tried to pick up some on the brush and spray it with a setting spray, but it’s just too hard to pick it up with a dry brush. For me, it’s way too much effort - dipping the brush into the product, swiping it on, dipping into product, swiping it on, over and over again to get it to show up - for not enough result. Even when it shows up, it isn’t anything amazing or gorgeous that makes me want to put in the effort for it. But, putting a little water in and mixing it and doing it that way, that’s worth it. They are very beautiful that way!I tried using a sponge tipped applicator (those double sided ones that come in drugstore palettes). They pick the dry pigment up A LOT better. So, if you want it dry without using your finger, that’s a good way to go.I really liked “01” and “02” the most. So, I decided to press them into eyeshadow pans. I took 2 small empty eyeshadow pans. I tried sprinkling the product into it, but it was taking FOREVER to get a decent amount of product out. So, then I decided to try and see if I could get the plastic shaker part out. It seemed as if it was stuck in there, maybe glued. But, I took some tweezers with really pointed, thin tips. I stuck each end into one of the holes, and then slowly pushed right and left as I pulled, and I was able to pull it out! Then, I dumped some product into the empty eyeshadow pan. I added in some isopropyl alcohol, mixed it up to a little paste, and then pressed the eyeshadow down a little. Then, I let it dry a little bit, came back, and pressed it down into the pan tightly. I let it sit overnight and it worked really well! “01” worked great. Now, I get a similar effect that I got when I wet it, but without actually adding water! It obviously isn’t exactly like when it’s wet, but pretty darn close! “02” I tried a little bit differently (I’m not sure why since I always do it the other way), but I packed the dry pigment into the pan tightly, then added a little isopropyl alcohol, and then pressed it tightly into the pan and let it sit overnight. It didn’t end up being as firm, and was pressed into the pan but a little flakey. So, I ended up going through the process I did with “01” and it worked a lot better. I haven’t decided if I’m going to go through and do it with the rest of these yet, but I’m happy with the result!Overall, I think these are great! You get 8 different colors. They work great dry with your finger or a sponge tipped applicator to give a wash of color and sheen. They give a beautiful look when they’re wet! They can stay loose or be pressed down. I definitely recommend! Read more
This is a nice array of loose body glitter of varying shades of brown. What I've applied has come out quite glittery, and I do like the colors. Each bottle has a stopper over the shaker holes, so none of the glitter will escape into the lid even when they're turned upside down. They are made in China, and here lies my complaint - the writing on the boxes are entirely in Chinese, including the ingredient list, so I have no way of knowing what's in this glitter. The bottles themselves are in English, but it seems poorly translated: "FLASHING: The Tactility is Soft and Smooth." What does that even mean?I will probably be using these for body glitter or in my hair, but I don't think I trust them for my face. Which makes me sad as I was excited about some loose eyeshadow. First off, it’s a great deal that you get so many colors for this price. I really like the pink ones, but there are several brown shades as well. These powders aren’t super pigmented, but that’s what makes the suitable to use as a blush as well (if you like a shimmery blush). I tested them as a blush and they are pretty but I put some translucent powder over them to get rid of the glitter because I don’t need to look like I fell out of a 90s rave. Anyway, the powders are really fine and easy to blend. The pictures suggest just putting them on with your finger but I found it easier to tap them out on my small metal tray and use them with a brush that way. I don’t like using my fingers to apply makeup. As an eyeshadow, they go on easily and blend to a nice shade that isn’t super dark. And you really can’t get them that dark because I tried to build up the powder in my photo and that’s about as dark as I could get it, even using my fingers. But I don’t need super pigmented eyeshadow so it’s fine. The product photos are pretty realistic in how they show these being used. They work great as a single eyeshadow color and that makes them fast and easy to use. I find I need to use a good eyeshadow base and a finishing spray to get them to last all day. But for less than a couple bucks each, that’s not bad. You get a decent amount of powder in each jar and you don’t need to use much so they should last a long time. Read more
I am a glitter girl, nothing crazy but I do like a little shimmer in my eye shadow. That is why I do like this product. If you happen to be using a matte sort of eye shadow, you can give it a little shimmer with just a fingertip of this product. Now at my age, I'm not someone who would put this product on my lips. Though I did try and it works as mentioned but it just isn't for me. For someone younger than myself and going out this would be a fun addition to any makeup routine. Read more
There are 8 colors in here. This is also the first time I use eye shadow (for picture taking). The colors are all gorgeous. You can pick any depending on your mood. It is very easy to use just get some on your finger and apply it on your eyelids and blend with finger or brush. It is definitely beginner friendly. I had a hard time blend the one of the darker colors but I think I may need to try again. After trying a couple of times, it became really easy. It is also easy to remove with just regular face wash/cleanser. These are great for self use or for Christmas gifts! Read more
