The media could not be loaded. This item is a waste. My daughter just turned 3 a few days ago and on day 2 of installation , September 2nd she was able to open the door.Don’t buy it. I don’t recommend it.Also, one of the items glue did not work at all. This is an item you would expect from aliexpress : cheap Chinese plastic made item.I posted a video of my 3 year old. Mind you, she was 2.10 when she opened it Read more
If the inside handle turns when you open your door from the outside (as if you were entering your house) this will not allow the handle to turn, thus locking you out of your house. Read more
Let me start by saying, these locks are awesome. They kept my kids away 😂 and were easy to install. BUT, they are extremely hard to remove without messing up your door. I had six of these on six different doors in my home. We needed to remove them since we are painting the doors to sell our home. When I looked at how the seller suggested to remove, I was skeptical but tried it their way. As you can see in the pic, it messes up my door. It was also extremely hard to get off with the fishing wire and the adhesive was practically stuck to the door. Once I finally got it off, the paint on the door came with it. I knocked off a star for that...Anyways, after some research on the internet, I found out an easier way to remove it. You need a:-Blow dryer-Butter knife (preferably one you won’t miss)What you want to do is blow the hot air from the hairdryer onto the entire child lock for about 3 minutes, then as the heat is stillblowing, take the butter knife and try to pry it away from the door. CAREFULLY. SLOWLY. Once the lock is off, there will be some adhesive left.Continue to blow the adhesive with hot air, and then peel/pick off the adhesive slowly. It comes right off 😊Tedious removal, but this product does what it says otherwise! Hello! Mama to a very curious 16 month old here. We are a military family and drilling into doors is not an option as we always have rentals. I needed something quick to secure more than half the doors in our house and these locks have definitely met our needs. They seriously take two seconds to "install" once you are sure your door lever will have enough clearance to move freely when the device is in the unlock position. What I really like is that I currently can have the top latch unlocked because my son has only figured out how to pull down (see picture). We are currently lifting rather than pulling all levers to open doors, which saves us a few seconds at each door. It all adds up, ya know?! Of course once he figures how to push up on levers, we will have to keep both latches in the locked position. I highly recommend these to anyone and everyone with a need to baby proof the home. I know this has gotten some bad reviews for kids being able to figure it out too easily. However I decided to give it a try anyways and so glad I did! My son is almost 4 and delayed so mentally he's more like 2. He is obsessed with the bathtub which has a handle instead of the knobs. We just couldn't keep him out of the bathroom he'd manage to slip in somehow (usually someone not closing the door all the way). I got this and put it under the handle and he hasn't been able to turn it on since. And he is very good at getting around things! It is only attached with the adhesive strip so I wasn't sure it would stay on just from the steam during showers. But it has been there for 3 weeks and holding strong. Read more
They work, pretty sure it would be difficult for a small child to figure it out. The 7 and 9 year old in my house can do it easily, the 3 year olds cannot! They just wiggle the handle and see that it is relatively useless. It is also 100% effective at trapping men in your home, as they are just as helpless as the 3 year olds and just wiggle and give up! I'd give it 5 stars if they fit my handles better. They still hit the lever, so I have to squeeze it past every time. I blame the oversized lever for that, though. Read more
As a teacher, we can't remove our commercial door handle levers to use most childproof locks for lever door handles. My special education classroom has a bathroom and I have a student who has made it his personal mission in life to play in the toilet and flush anything and everything possible, so finding a way to secure the bathroom door was imperative. This worked perfectly after all other lever handle locks wouldn't work because we weren't permitted to remove the door handles. These use adhesive and are so easy to install. They are easy to use, but tricky enough to make it difficult for children to open if you don't teach them how to push and turn the latch. Other teachers have seen my lock and asked for an Amazon link to purchase one for their classroom - they are a huge hit! Read more
My daughter is 3 and seems to get out of the back door no matter what kind of locks or knobs we get. This was my last option before having to install another lock at the top of the door. I have to say it's working great. I will update if she ends up figuring out how to open it. Read more
Bought as my toddler has figured out how to unlock the doors and bolt outside ! Worked great for 2 days they my son was able to pull it off with the adhesive. Took the second one and used crazy glue- son was able to break the clips off by yanking. If your child is not the hulk like my child I would recommend. Read more
This was an immediate need once our toddler was able to open the doors. We went on to Amazon and debated between this one and Safety First. However this one was the choice as its top bar also moved. Thus we leave the bottom bar locked in, so our child can't pull down and the top bar swung to the side so we pull up to open the door.Pros:- Easy install- Top and bottom bar moveCons:- None Read more
Made of a cheap plastic, 2 items broke within 2 weeks. This is a safety piece that involve little toddlers. Should be made of a better quality!! Will return them if I can! Read more
