I have been taking Herpanacine for YEARS. Probably close to 15 years. I was suffering from what I called fever blisters (because I'd wake from a night sweat, then have a "tingle" on my lip the next morning that turned into a blister), almost monthly. By the time one would heal, I'd have another night sweat and yes, another blister. It was awful. Herpanacine SAVED ME. But then, sadly, tragically, about five or so years ago I believe their formula changed. The bottle design changed, and the white powder inside of the capsules looked slightly different.With the OLD formula, if I just remembered to take six capsules per week, I NEVER got a blister. And I stopped getting night sweats. If I forgot for a longer period of time, say like a month, I'd get a blister. Because I was a poor 20 something single girl, I was trying to stretch the product out as much as I could. So I found that a weekly dose kept my painful mouth creatures at bay.With the NEW formula, even if I take the recommended three capsules per day (I've even tried six capsules per day, every day, all month long), I can still get a blister. It prevents cold sores. It is good for the skin in general. I have cold sores and my hubby has eczema. If he forgets to take it his skin breaks out again. I bought this to help with my breakouts. I wouldn't say I have full blown acne but I always have a few zits or pimples on my face. My problem is it causes dark spots on my face when they heal.
