Works fine on the Slate gray Meadow bed by DaVinci. Satisfied with this purchase. The longest and hardest part was taking down the toddler bed. Directions are short and to the point but pretty straight forward. Took a couple hours in total. Like others mentioned, I doubted the rails would hold due to the small ledge the box spring sits on and being wood not metal like I’m used to but my son and I snuggled on it for a bit and we were fine and I’m a plus size woman. You for sure can’t just use a mattress. It will fall thru. Headboard is a tad shaky. Could be me not screwing bolts tight enough. Will take another look. Rail color matches perfectly with the slate head and foot board. Read more
My daughter has the Jayden DaVinci convertible crib, and this was the recommended hardware to convert it into a full-size bed. The rails went on just fine, but when we went to put the mattress on, there was a good 2- inch gap between the mattress and the bed frame! We looked to make sure that we had put everything together properly, and looked to see what/if we could do to adjust it... but in the end, my husband ended up screwing a 2x4 onto one of the rails so that the mattress would fit. Without that, there was NO way that the mattress was going to fit. I was pretty disappointed that such an expensive couple of pieces weren't even able to do the job they were designed to do. Nonetheless, now the bed is an actual bed. However, if we didn't have access to the tools we needed to modify what was sent to us, the pieces sent would have been useless. Read more
I had a lot of concerning purchasing this item and did a ton of research. Per the Million dollar baby website this is compatible with the MDB Ashbury bed. You will need two people to complete the job. And yes you are paying for screws and 2 pieces of wood. If you have switched to the toddler bed, I would recommend making it a crib again so you have the footboard and headboard assembled. Then disable the crib. This makes assembling the full bed easy. Based off reviews I had slats made and placed under the bed. After putting the mattress and box spring I decided to remove the slats because the bed was too high. I am a healthy sized woman and feel perfectly fine and safe I'm the bed with just the box spring and mattress and have zero concerns about it supporting my weight or my toddlers weight. If you are not planning on using a box spring you will have issues and need slats. The bed looks great and I'm pleased with it. Read more
Perfect! I thought I needed metal rails as well but I did not. I needed screws and pieces from the original bed for the headboard and footboard. The conversion kit came with screws and instructions. Read more
I bought this to convert my daughter’s babyletto crib. After checking three times that it was compatible, I bought it. Well.. it’s not compatible. Even though on the instruction sheet it says it is. The drilled holes don’t even come close to matching up. It’s a mess. Read more
These were easy to put on the crib and seem very sturdy. Rather than buying box springs, we purchased 3/4" plywood to put under the mattress. My husband, daughter, and I can all lay on it with no problems (a total of about 420 pounds). Read more
The screws provided, while the correct size for the metal bracket that is part of this kit, were too small for the footboard of the Porter Davinci crib we had. The instructions have you going from the hidden hardware into the footboard, but that doesnt provide a sturdy bed. The ONLY way I could create a safe bed was to buy different screws and drill holes in this new conversion kit, and then screw in the newly purchases screws from the footboard into the conversion kit. They work. Unfortunately, there is no support between the rails. I have a 5 year old son who will, most certainly, jump on his new bedset. There's not much in the way of supporting the bedspring and mattress. I'm going to the hardware store and have a sheet of plywood cut to insert from edge to edge so the mattress set doesn't fall through. Read more
I bought the conversion kit for our MDB Louis Crib but it didn't come with any bed slats. Is that correct? I find it strange that there were no instructions to install it, no instructions online, no product info in the box and that I paid $140 CAD for two pieces of wood and two brackets. Read more
After being a month late and fighting for a refund, it arrived and it is damaged in the box.The price of this I could have just bought a whole new bed from ikea. Not worth converting the crib. Read more
Sturdy and easy to assemble. However, our box spring and mattress fell through. We will have to purchase a sheet of plywood or some additional support. Both are full size. Read more
