My 8 month old does not do well with this mat because she simply picks it up and tosses it on the ground, which pretty much defeats the purpose of having an easy to clean mat. There is no way to secure this to the table or tray. I prefer the mat with suction cups (which people complain about because those suction cups make a little bump on the tray and if the child sits a glass there, it can tip over easier). My kids use sippy cups that do not pour out when they tip over, so no biggie for me. I also have successfully trained my kids to keep their food on their plates by the time they are using a real cup rather than sippy, so suction cup bumps aren't an issue for us. This mat is NOT as thick as the tiny diner mat we had previously and when she leans against it, the tray dumps all the food in her lap. Once again, defeats it's core purpose of catching food. The tray is SUPER thin at maybe an inch and the food is still going into her lap half the time. Giving it 2 stars because the color is a really girly coral pink - the material is nice on the actual flat mat part - and it did catch half of her food before dumping it upon leaning on it - so I give it a D grade. Perfect with our chicco caddy hook on high chair. The little pocket covers the gap between the table and the chair and gives baby a place to dig food out of. This and a pocket bib and we are mostly mess free. We keep and extra chair and splat mat under to catch most of the falling bits. Ordering another! Read more

I wish I had this sooner. My 15 month old loves going out to eat. But I was always grossed out because she rubs her food and hands on the table and then eats the food. She is too young for a plate because she will just toss it. I throw this down on the table and put her food on it and none of her food touches the table. It covers a large surface area. Since it has a lip that hangs over the table, it prevents her from licking or biting the table, too.I have used it on various surfaces in different restaurants and it sticks. The catch tray is amazing. While stuff does hit the floor, when you see what the tray does catch, you will see how helpful it really is. It folds up easily in my diaper bag. After we eat, I throw it in a plastic grocery bag in my diaper bag and clean it when I get home. Read more

This is good for catching food that falls down, and I love that it doesn't slide around on the table, but it is a lot smaller than I expected. Way too small for my 1.5 year old. His plate, which is a small plate made for toddlers, barely fits on it. I would love to find a silicone mat that's just like this, but larger, closer to the size of a regular placemat. Read more

We had these Mumobaby place mats for my older children. When our baby came after a 7 year gap, I hunted them down again. I was so happy to finally find these specific ones but was disappointed to see how much smaller they are. The old ones were at least 25% bigger. Some other changes I didn’t like include the smooth silicone on the bottom side, which picks up every piece of hair, lint and crumb and will NOT rinse off! This is why I gave it only 3 stars for travel because it comes out of my diaper bag looking filthy. The old ones used to have the same matte finish on the bottom as the top. The little trough is also smaller and doesn’t catch food nearly as well. Overall, it still provides a clean surface for my baby to eat on at restaurants but not much else. We used our old ones at home a lot with the older kids but no point with these. Read more

This is our second one of these mats now that my three year old has graduated out of his high chair and we love them. We have been using them with my daughter for a few years now and they are so handy and really help reduce huge messes. We have a glass table top on our table and these stay out very nicely on our table and they are super easy to pick up and clean after meals. They are very durable and sturdy too, my daughters one we’ve had for at least two years it has no issues and it’s held up great, so I feel confident this one will too. We put this under the arms of the ingeslina fast chair because the tray for the chair is not so good. It decreases the bulk of carrying the chair and catches food that falls in that maddening gap between the table and the front of the chair. We leave restaurants much cleaner now! The only change I'd make is to have the eating service be deeper, meaning going further away from the child. Ours can reach out and grab the far end and pull it. The mat doesn't come all the way up because of the arms of the chair, but it's a little annoying when she does it. If it was lengthier in that direction, this wouldn't happen. I wouldn't use this without the fast chair on top of it, a kid would grab it and have food flung across the room in about 2.5 seconds. Read more
