This product is not safe for pregnant women. It’s made of 100% polyurethane foam, which I should have looked up before buying it. Polyurethane foam off-gases toxic fumes linked to respiratory problems. It’s also extremely flammable —> “Polyurethane foam is made from petroleum-byproducts and is highly flammable. “In fact, fire marshals refer to polyurethane foam as “solid gasoline,” according to the National Association of State Fire Marshals (2015) as cited in A to Z of D-Toxing. (1)”The day I opened this it had a very strong smell and I developed a headache almost immediately after opening it. Companies shouldn’t be allowed to sell this kind of thing to pregnant women/children.Memory foam crib mattresses are made of polyurethane too...beware. :/ Read more
We bought this because we have a doggie with a collapsing trachea and his cardiologist recommended sleeping on an incline to help him breathe. This is great! Willy is a little guy (11 lbs) and so everything we were finding was too large. This boppy is perfectly sized for him. We even popped an ice pack in it to keep him cool. Read more
I finally broke down and bought at 35 weeks pregnant, as my baby bump was finally becoming so big that sleeping (even on my side) was painful for anything longer than 45 minutes per side, even with body pillows. Regular pillows were too thick where it meets your side, but too think at the belly, and what I really needed was a wedge. I was reluctant to spend the money, but realizing I could have a month left and not be getting sleep convinced me to make the investment. Thank god I did !! This little pillow is helping me get a good night's sleep again. The firmness is just right to provide support, but still be comfortable. I also like that it comes with its own removable cover. You can hardly feel the pilllow while you're sleeping on it - it's so comfortable and non-invasive, it's almost as though it wasn't there!Update:Still using this pillow post-partum. Very useful as a wedge when I sleep on my side to alleviate pressure on my breasts (due to breastfeeding engorgement). Also use these when sitting on the bed for breastfeeding, to help prop under my legs in conjunction with the Boppy pillow. Read more
I was absolutely miserable when trying to sleep at night. My hips were killing me, my back hurt, and I was trying to use a body pillow to prop up my 16 week bump. It was awful. So I ordered this at like 2am one night when the discomfort was keeping me from falling back to sleep after my 57th trip to the bathroom. It's magic, I swear! I use it under my bump. It's small enough that I can sleep on it and still cuddle with my partner, which wasn't an option at all with the wall of body pillow between him and I previously. I'm considering ordering a second one to place behind my back, because I sometimes find that I've rolled into my back in my sleep; if I'm awake enough I move the wedge to the small of my back before rolling, but having a second wedge would be more convenient =)I find this to be the perfect size to support my bump without taking up too much bed real estate, and the perfect firmness to support without being uncomfortable. It IS a smaller wedge, though! Read more
I'm 31 weeks pregnant and had been using just a straight body pillow, the gigantic C or J shaped ones would not fit in bed with my husband and me! When I got to the third trimester and my belly really got big, I would wake up on my back a lot at night. Or course I was concerned because they say you shouldn't be on your back for long periods of time in the third trimester. I wanted support behind my back to keep me in the right position, and regular pillows weren't doing the job.I ordered the Boppy wedge and was surprised by how small it was. I thought there was no way it would support me and my ever-growing belly, or stop me from rolling over. But I gave it a try and was surprised by how well it did! Even though it's little, the foam is surprisingly sturdy, so it really does give great back support. I wedge it right behind my lower back when I'm laying down with my arm and leg over the body pillow, and now I don't wake up flat on my back nearly as much. And when I want to flip to the other side, I use the wedge to support my belly! I've also used it to prop myself up in bed or on the couch when I want to sit up with a bit more back support. I think it's versatile and super useful! Read more
Wow. First, I'm not super brand-loyal to Boppy. I like their infant feeding pillow fine, but I have my complaints. This, however, was a different story. I bought it on a whim when the price went super low on Amazon, not expecting much. I'm only 20 weeks pregnant now, though, and I'm already using this every night and I wish so much that I had had it during my pregnancy for my older daughter. When I first opened it I was disappointed at the small height of the wedge, and didn't think it would add much to my night-time comfort (I already sleep with a traditional body pillow along my chest/between my knees). I was also bummed by the firmness, because I didn't think it would be comfortable enough. Turns out those features are perfect just the way they are. The height of the wedge is perfect for supporting my belly at this stage of my pregnancy and I can just tell it's going to keep being perfect as my belly grows through the pregnancy. Also, the texture is perfect for supporting my belly--any softer and the pillow wouldn't do its job, but it's not at all uncomfortable. The ONLY complaint I have is that as I roll from my left side to my right side it takes a bit to get readjusted with both my body pillow and Boppy wedge, but that's not on the pillow-just the way I use it. 5/5, would definitely purchase again, and have already been recommending to friends. This wedge was perfect to help support my belly when I was pregnant. I used it from very early on to help take some pressure off my bladder at night and later to support my bump from pulling to one side. It was the perfect solution for me because we have only a double bed and not enough room for a huge maternity ‘U’ or Call pillow and me and my husband. In my third trimester, this combined with a memory foam mattress topper and a soft pillow at my knees made for absolute comfort at a time when everything hurt.Postpartum I used the pillow for lower back support while nursing, then later to help support the centre of my Boppy nursing pillow once baby was about 6 months (it can sag a bit and make baby uncomfortable). Now that my nursing days are over I’m still using it to help tilt my pelvis when I sit at my desk at work to support my pelvic floor and help my pelvic floor physiotherapy efforts. So useful in so many ways. Definitely get this.I wish I had extra covers so I could switch them out to wash. Read more
I actually use this pillow every single night to support my pregnant belly/breasts. (Honestly, mostly under my breasts bc, huge) It might seem a bit small when you get it but it's actually perfect. I even took it with me in my carry-on when I travelled. The case washes well. The pillow has not become squashed in anyway yet. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I wish the zipper was covered, but it really doesn't get in the way or scratch. I look forward to using it for tummy time when baby arrives. Read more
Bought this for my pregnant wife. She loves it, she uses two of them. One on the front, one on the backside. When she's not paying attention, I steal it to support my sexy dad bod. Score. Read more
This has been my favourite pillow during my pregnancy. I am currently 33 weeks in and this is amazing for sleeping on the side during the night. It gives me the perfect support of my belly and it's small enough that I can carry it around the house with me. That means I can use it while I'm sitting on the coach or eating dinner. Not to mention, the price is amazing~ Read more
Perfectly sized, most pregnancy pillows out there are huuuge and they aren't petite people friendly, not to mention take up way too much bed space. Not this one! Super comfortable under belly or leg support pillow. Was great in the first and second tri and even better for the last. Would not be able to sleep without my boppy wedge! Read more
