I've used both the indigo powder and pure henna and the quality is great! The powder is very fine and easy to mix. I use the indigo and henna together to achieve a nice dark brown and apply it about once a month. Gray coverage is 100% and it conditions the hair really well. The way I mix mine is best for conditioning. I mix the henna in water + a dash of apple cider vinegar + a teaspoon of coconut oil + table spoon or two of yogurt. I let it sit for a couple of hours (or overnight) and then right before applying I add indigo mixed in water. Works like a charm every time. Read more

The best kept secret on the Internet for turning my hair black without causing ANY allergic reaction. Chemicals like PPD and PTD were in very single box of any hair color across every place I could find in every store possible. I even tried Henna products, herbal products, you name it. Nothing came close to what this did to turn my grey's black.Steps Taken:1) Use Henna from an Indian store, put it into a container, mixed a little bit of apple cider vinegar into it, maybe 1 part vinegar to 7 parts water, mix it into the Henna until it turns into a paste (Like how a thick pudding would be). Cover the lid, leave it overnight for 12 to 14 hours. Check in 12-14 hours and see if the color has changed on top layer to indicate dye release (basically when you use a spoon after 12-14 hours to check it, you should see the color inside or underneath is slightly brighter than the layer formed on top). Once dye release confirmed, put it all over your hair and let it dry on for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This turns your hair orange. You will freak out. It might even be brown.2) Take a shower, get all that out. Then clean the same container or use a different container (make sure all containers are glass) and just use Indigo mixed with water. Turn it into a pudding consistency, then quickly apply it to your hair. Again leave it on your hair for 2 hours. Wait until it has basically dried out, then take a shower.3) Voila! Your hair will be green! Don't freak out. This is where the magic happens. Wait another 24 hours. I repeat, wait an additional 24 hours after you have applied the Indigo. For some reason, even though some of my hair was green instead of black, after 24 hours, it all turned black. So yes, just be patient. This stuff is legit.(Coming from a guy who had allergic reactions to all other products so bad, like itching and skin peeling and skin burning/flaking off. ) Read more

I always hated the orange color left on coloring white hair with henna. Also knew the ill effects of chemical color dye in the long run . Finally this product worked like a miracle. On henna dyed hair ( shown in last 3 pics) I applied soaked indigo powder the next day. Kept for 3 hrs and then shampooed . Now I get a pretty dark black color ( first 3 pics) with no trace of brown or orange roots. It's cumbersome though ,investing 3 hrs for henna and 3 hrs for indigo on two days but the results are worth it . Next time I will try to mix henna and indigo and see if it works.....if it does I will repost my observation. Read more

After seeing so many pics of this product on Amazon and online and the Henna by the same brand, I was convinced I could make the few grey strands sprouting on my temples go away safely & naturally. Surely The Pictures dont lie! I was really excited, did all this research, started a journal detailing exactly the mixtures/time used etc. I even told my 65 yr old mom and sister to try it. I was embarrassed that after several times, it did not work. I tried everything. I did red (Henna) 1st, then Indigo, in varying combinations. Then different percentages of the Henna Indigo mix (ie. 60% Indigo 40% Henna and Upwards until it was 85% Indigo 15% Henna). I tried it without a cap/heat, with cap/heat (because this apparently changes the redness of the tint). With coffee/tea, without coffee/tea/acv/lemon juice etc. I am at my wits end! WHY doesn’t it work for me? I read these directions and visited so many “henna experts” on the web who all said they knew the right way, which were all conflicting-so I tried all the methods. I find it hard to believe I just have “resistant greys.” From the pics it should have been easy to achieve plain dark brown hair without any red. There were other women like me with more grey and ended up with the result they wanted without much trouble. But what my white hairs did after 6 hours each time, was turn a light reddish honey caramel, which admittedly blends into my dark hair more than white but it’s not what I was hoping for and it’s not the results others are getting so easily. I feel soo deflated.I WILL say without a doubt, the conditioning effect on my hair was amazing, after the 1st few days of “grittiness” from the pigment which I learned is totally natural & normal and goes away. That alone is worth doing it for but it doesn’t cover my greys. It left my hair in better condition than ever, returning it to its natural wavy shiny texture & luster. If anything, the Cassia Obovata is a no brainer treatment as it’s clear. However the greys keep coming in and I found myself standing in the drugstore today buying two brands of box dye for grey touch ups, to my chagrin. I had such high hopes for this. I had dyed my hair from 13 years old to 40. A cycle of Bleaching, Dyeing with every kind of dye, all the time. I never had the same hair color for more than a season. I wanted to finally go natural and I’m afraid of cancer from the dyes. I also have a health condition that’s due to environmental toxins! So ittvery important to me to not abuse myself with chemicals. To abandon the toxins that plague us is no small feat, and I was unable to defeat the chemicals. Not to mention the process is extremely messy & takes whole days out of your life to do-and that’s just to make a bit of progress step by step. I must decide if I should continue to chase this rabbit hole for very meek results, or abandon it altogether for box dyes. Lord Help Me. Read more

I'm not sure what's going on, but in all the years I've bought indigo, this is the worst I've ever received. In the instructions it said to add "fresh brewed coffee." i have never had to add any coffee to my indigo. But because instructions said so, I did. And the color came out a faded brown/black. Not jet black as I usually get with Indigo. I'm very upset since it takes me almost an entire day to do my hair since I do the two step process with henna. And I leave the indigo overnight so I always wake up with a headache, because I have sensitive skin. So for this product not to work after so much work (and the mess that goes with all this) is very upsetting!! I'm not sure I'll ever buy from you again. Not even Henna!! What are you doing to your indigo that it's so bad and requires coffee in it!!! Read more

This product is great and so is the service. I was looking for the herbal alternative to chemical hair dyes/colors as they were ruining my hair. It is then I came to know about indigo powder. Though I am using indigo powder of different brand since six months, I used this brand for the first time and it gave amazing results. I usually use the indigo powder with henna paste. I used to add some lemon juice/apple cider vinegar to henna and soak it overnight or for four hours. In the morning I used to prepare the indigo powder paste as per guidelines and mix it up with henna paste and apply it and left it for 3 hours. But, this made my scalp very itchy and hot as lemon/ACV are very acidic. Since henna needs an acidic agent to release color, I switched to Amla ( Indian gooseberry) powder and the problem of itchy scalp solved. Since I have many grays, henna often turned my hair color into copper-orange which I never liked. I wanted to have dark colored hair and indigo powder fulfilled my wish. But, do not apply it without henna(if you have gray hair) because it will turn your hair green. It covers the hairline perfectly and does not stain the skin. One can view the result in the photograph. My hair texture has improved, they are soft and have volume and hair fall has reduced. I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to all who are seeking herbal/natural solution for their hair problems. Read more
